|
Up to 64GB DDR II ECC SDRAM, 2GB standard |
|
- • Helping lower cost without sacrificing availability, the x3800 supports high-end memory availability such as Chipkill™ and Memory ProteXion™ standard at no additional cost using off-the-shelf industry-standard DIMMs for the detection and correction of single-bit and double-bit memory errors
- IBM-exclusive Memory ProteXion uses spare bits for redundancy that re-route data around a failed chip on a DIMM in the event of a failure
- Memory mirroring dramatically reduces unscheduled downtime for memory failures through high availability redundant memory banks
- OS-independent, hot-swap memory in mirrored environments enables the replacement of failed DIMMs while the system is still running to maximize availability of this mission-critical server
- Hot-add memory supported with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 powers the dynamic addition of main memory to increase performance
